National Children’s Consultation on the RPA-EVAC

When we say that youth voices matter, we truly mean it. In April 2025, 18 young individuals gathered for a national youth consultation to share their perspectives on critical issues such as violence against children, online safety, and climate change. These discussions informed ASEAN's 2nd Regional Plan of Action on Ending Violence Against Children (RPA-EVAC), a comprehensive 10-year roadmap aimed at enhancing child protection in the region.

Participants engaged in interactive activities like giant Jenga, Snakes and Ladders, and a quiz to familiarise themselves with each topic. They then delved deeper into focused group discussions, sharing their experiences and recommendations on the issues that resonated with them the most.

The insights gathered during these sessions were formally compiled and submitted in a report to Child Rights Coalition Asia, who were coordinating children's consultations across the region.

From this group, three representatives were elected by their peers to convey Singapore youth perspectives all the way to Jakarta.
