Child Rights Coalition Asia is a regional network of child rights organisations working across Asia to promote and protect the rights of every child, and every year they bring young people together for the Regional Children's Meeting (RCM)— a dedicated space where youth from across the region share their views, exchange ideas, and contribute to the child rights agenda.
This year's RCM centred on two themes:
Children's civil and political rights: The rights that give young people a voice in the decisions that affect them
Rights in the digital environment: These include how emerging technologies like generative AI are reshaping childhood. As AI becomes part of everyday life, questions about safety, privacy, and who gets to shape these tools are increasingly urgent — and young people deserve to be part of that conversation.
We sent two delegates, Clarice and Xinyi, to represent Singapore. Together alongside youth delegates from 16 other countries, they dove into workshops and learning sessions with experts from Meta, Save the Children, and Amnesty International — exploring what these rights look like in practice and what needs to change.
