Every child has the right to grow up in a safe, clean, and sustainable environmen! But as climate change accelerates, that right is increasingly under threat. Recognising this, the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR)— the body responsible for overseeing human rights across ASEAN member states— held its first-ever dialogue with children specifically on this issue. It was a landmark moment: for the first time, AICHR was hearing directly from young people about what the environmental crisis means for their lives and their futures.

Anders and Ray were nominated to represent Singapore at this historic dialogue, sharing their perspectives alongside youth from across the region. They also discussed something equally important: how young people can be meaningfully involved in AICHR's programmes and activities going forward — not just as participants, but as contributors to the region's human rights agenda.
