Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: What you should know!

Most young people in Singapore are online every day, but when it comes to research on online sexual harms, young people's own experiences and perspectives are rarely part of the conversation. This study changes that.

Drawing on focus group discussions with 28 young people aged 13 to 18, it explores what Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) actually looks like from a youth perspective: how risks show up, how young people respond, and why so many choose to handle things on their own rather than reach out for help.

The findings point to something important: young people shouldn't have to carry this alone. Platforms, governments, schools, and families all have a role to play— and so do young people themselves, in shaping the solutions.
